HTC cannot quit phone game

Coombes will serve as CEO, while Atkins chief marketing officer.

HTC former executives Coombes and Atkins are hoping fresh up and start with their own company. The two left HTC in March, part of an exodus of several key executives leaving as the company struggles with its U-turn.

Of course the company faces great hurdles, and might perhaps very well go from Kazam to kablooey in short approach. After all, if a company with the resources of HTC continues to struggle with the earpiece business, how much of a chance does a start-up have?

Kazam, who determines on focusing on the European market, has confidence that HTC can differentiate itself by offering phones that it will continue to support after they're purchased. Considering that smartphones routinely get software updates, the company will likely offer more support than new versions of the software. The bare-bones statement didn't provide any concrete details on the products themselves, noting only that a line of smartphones will launch later this year.
There is a real occasion for a new mobile brand to disrupt the status quo if there is passionate about delivering a truly positive mobile experience that doesn't just stop once you've bought the phone.
As Kazam's dynamic structure and focus is on local markets meaning that they can retort swiftly to the ever-embryonic and deviating needs of current’s purchaser.
There is need to hear more about Kazam plus its phone first before making a final noise, but for now, the startup is raising a lot of questions about its business with the announcement.
Because in many markets where the carrier plays a foremost role in what the consumer ultimately buys, getting an in with the big companies will be a huge contest. Fortunately, unlocked phones are more popular in Europe, so there's a potential market for customers who want approximately different technology.
Also, with companies such as HTC, Sony, and LG fighting for the scraps left over from Samsung and Apple, there appears to be little left over for Kazam. And comparatively large companies such as Huawei and ZTE have struggled to get into mature markets despite gigantic resources.
But in a market where money, scale, distribution, and brand talks, Kazam is at a distinct disadvantage.

M.S Office to iPhones but confines use.

Microsoft has unconfined an app that lets Office 365 subscribers to consume Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on their iPhones today.

Don't get too animated Office fans. On Friday the giant released Office Mobile for iPhone in the iTunes Store While it's a free download, but it will only work for subscribers to Microsoft's Office 365 Home Premium and Pro-plus as known by the fans of iPhone. And it's heightened for the iPhone only, excluding the Apple's larger iPads.
Whereas Microsoft edged a bit quicker today to bringing the one app to the iPhone that's long been missing Office!

But as the marketing Manager Chris Schneider in Microsoft’s Office division said that “We do not view this as a standalone application” while chitchats of  iOS have heated up over the last few years, this release will have to predominantly limit the appeal for supplementary 350 million users of iPhones worldwide just because as Microsoft distinguished last month Office 365 has 1 million subscribers.

This app comprises of several features to let the subscribers pick up files on their phones where they left off on their computers. The Recommence Sense feature, like, taking user to the exact point in the document last viewed in Word on a Computer. Appointing on the Recent button on the bottom of the app's home page will take the user to a list of the Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps they most recently worked on from their Computer, tablet, or phone.

It would require making work on a larger screen if Microsoft designed this app to work on iPads too, the reason why it’s not possible using it on iPads as Microsoft was tumbling with this new app. Because they never thought at any moment that it could be elective an experience.

And Microsoft is not currently offering an Android version of the app, but instead, Microsoft is heartening Android, and iPads users, to tap into its Office Web Apps services, that offers various Office programs through a Web browser.
Office Mobile for iPhone really points to rounding out that device experience.

Wireless emergency alerts added to U.S. iPhones

Messages that let one to know when there is a natural disaster, presidential, or Amber alerts, in an area will now be sent on both iPhone 5
and iPhone 4

These alerts are for getting material out to people who aren't closely tuned into a television or radio, and would have been helpful during disasters such as the fatal accidents that might have happened in places where one might have planned to pass.

AT&T publicized that it is progressing out wireless alternative alerts to all of its U.S. customers that have an iPhone 5 and 4. These alerts are physically targeted, so, for example, users in a certain areas like Florida will not be able to get access to messages about North Dakota and so on to other places.
Anytime there is a man-made disaster, government-issued safety announcement, or a presidential alert, or an Amber alert for a missing child, a message will pop up on user’s iPhones explaining what's happening.

But if one doesn’t want to get these alerts, it's possible to turn off most of them. In the iPhone's settings, under notifications, letting users to toggle off Amber and emergency alerts. However, there's no way to turn off the presidential alerts as these alerts are part of the FCC’s CMAS program and are enforced by law.

To get the alerts, iPhone holders will have to update their phones with AT&T's new software and this update will appear on iPhones automatically. The update will only be sent over-the-air to users with iOS 6.1 or higher. Those users with iPhone5 or 4 but not on iOS 6.1 or higher will get the update when they plug their device into iTunes.

Massive Hacker accused

Jeremy Hammond was arrested in a major federal sweep last year on charges of computer hacking conspiracy, computer hacking, and conspiracy to commit access device fraud and the self-described hacktivist pled guilty to these counts in court on Tuesday.
Antisec took charge for hacking into security think tank Strategic Forecasting, in December 2011. One of the group's claims was the theft 200GB worth of data, including e-mails and clients' credit card information.
As part of each of these hacks, who devastated private information stored on computer systems, websites used by each of the entities claimed to be knowing what they’re doing that was against the law. But the feds pinched Hammond, 28, and a handful of other alleged hackers after an insider named
while the authorities were going after hackers in the Lulzsec hacking group at that time, they also arrested Hammond, who they said was part of an Anonymous-affiliated hacktivist group called Antisec.
The group published 860,000 e-mail addresses and 75,000 unencrypted credit card numbers on the Web after the hack existences. FBI also claimed that at least $700,000 worth of unauthorized charges were made to credit card accounts stolen in the hack.
Hammond was accused by the feds of being one of the kingpin hackers allegedly involved in this massive cyber-attack.
Jeremy took accountability for what he did, but should not have faced such a harsh sentence for an act of protest from which he did not personally benefit, as Hammond's brother, Jason Hammond, said in a statement but for Hammond will be sentenced on September 6 and his to faces up to 10 years in prison.

The consumers whose information was conceded in the hack included the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense, Lockheed Martin, and Bank of America.

Chinese hackers reported

Over two dozen defense system designs were compromised and may have been stolen in order to jump-start the development of Chinese military technology.
A confidential U.S. Defense Science Boardfor Pentagon recently alleged that Chinese hackers have accomplished an expose and potentially steal data relating to U.S’s advanced military weapons and systems as ABC television reported that hackers originating from China have stolen floor plans relating to a new headquarters for the Australian Security Intelligence Organization in Australia too.
The accessed designs by hackers included an advanced Patriot missile system, known as PAC-3, as well as those for the F/A-18 fighter jet, the V-22 Osprey, and the Black Hawk helicopter, the Post reported though documents did not indicate when or where the intrusions occurred, whether they were via government or contractor computer networks.

Apparently China is training military forces on digital combat and an informational war since it has been often linked to alleged cyber-attacks by the US.
The People's Liberation Army is planning to launch digital war tournaments next month focused on developing new combat forces that specialize in cyber-warfare according to state-sponsored news agency Xinhua.
This will be the first time the army has focused on combat forces including special operations forces, army aviation, electronic counter forces and digitalized units. As Trainings will be carried out late next month at the Zhurihe training base in northern China. And eight military academies and forces from the Beijing Military Area Command will participate in the exercises.
Pentagon cautioned China to cease a cyber-spying campaign against the U.S which apparently involves Chinese hackers in stealing intellectual property of the country and the demand came after the security firm Mendicants unconfined a report that claimed an overwhelming percentage of cyber-attacks on U.S. corporations, government agencies, and organizations originate from China in March.

Solar plane starts across US

The solar-motorized plane dubbed Solar Impulse, established off Friday from San Francisco shortly after 6 a.m. local time (1300 GMT) was anticipated to land in Phoenix, Arizona, 19 hours later for the aircraft’s first stop in the first-ever fuel-free transcontinental plane flight.

And as the first airplane to fly both day and night driven exclusively by the sun’s rays has taken off from California in the first stage of an attempt to fly across the US without using any fuel. It has got wingspan of 208 feet different to that of an Airbus A340 – but at 1,600 kg evaluates about the same as an average automobile, according to the developers.

The supremacy used to force the aircraft into the space is roughly comparable to the one used by US flight pioneers Orville and Wilbur Wright in their first powered flight in 1903 and a cruising speed of around 55 km per hour on average.

The Swiss originates behind the flight hype the mission as a way to demonstrate the opportunities presented by clean technologies, with crucial goals of flying around the world in a second-generation version of the Solar Compulsion HB-SIB aircraft currently under manufacture. As the Solar Impulse crew rides an electric bike alongside the plane and it takes off from Moffett Field NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California on May 3, 2013. The first-ever crewed aircraft that can fly by day or night on the Sun’s mechanism alone took off Friday on the first foot of a trip across the United States. And was piloted by Swiss adventurer Bertrand Piccard, in northern California at 6:12 am (13:12 GMT) which known as the perfect takeoff.
But the restricted cockpit has room for only one person, as it is unheated and the pilot has to wear an oxygen mask because of a lack of pressurization.
Developers continue to warn their pilots not eat fiber-rich foods a day to when they are to take their flight.

As the settlement was in addition to NASDAQ’s offer to pay $62 million to compensate brokers that took losses trading in the Facebook inauguration.

And in the way of braking the camp, NASDAQ agreed to pay a penalty of $10 million, the leading ever alongside a stock exchange, for irreverenting securities laws in the Facebook initial public offering (IPO) as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) noted in their report.
SEC mentioned the second-prime US equity market for its poor systems and decision-making during the Facebook IPO in May 2012 and exchanges had an obligation to ensure their systems, processes, and contingency planning that were robust and adequate to manage an IPO without disruption to the market as Xinhua states.

Though NASDAQ’s high-ranking forerunner decided to initiate trading before fully considering the problem, which then caused violations of several rules, including NASDAQ’s essential rule governing the price-time priority for implementing trade orders.
