Well it is
so amazing how yahoo is increasing its web dominance. News currently indicate
that a deal has been reached between Yahoo and Tumblr.
Tumblr is
now taken over by Yahoo after the deal was confirmed by Yahoo’s board of
directors. A whole 1.1 billion Dollars has been paid for the site. This price
is approved by the AllThingsD which is a technology blog. The deal was confirmed on Sunday.
Today
Monday, a press conference is held in New York which is Tumblrs hometown to
declare the takeover.
The purchase is no more a rumor since all sides have approved
the deal. This deal is so far one of the great acquisitions by the Internet
giants. This follows its 2012 struggles that almost had Yahoo taken over by
Google. This advancement could be a surprise but it’s also a proof that Yahoo
could be getting much better.
Yahoo’s
interests in acquisition must be geared up as this is an addition to Summly, a
news summarizing app they bought from a teenage for a hooping $30 million.
